Collaboration

SNMIC is all about collaboration.  This is what has contributed to our success over the years.  Winning this grant will require a deep level of collaboration.  Those that participate on the Planning Committee are provided access to a Dropbox folder.  Dropbox is a virtual server where we collaborate on the grant proposal itself, as well as many other efforts required for SNMIC to be successful in the pursuit of this grant.  Working in this type of environment requires rules that we must follow to stay organized.   Communication is key.  Below are some simple rules we ask that you follow when using Dropbox:

  1. Become familiar with dropbox and how it works prior to accessing and making edits to any documents.  It is a very simple program and has fail-safes in case mistakes are made.  We will gladly provide training over the phone – just call (702) 530-5627.
  2. The ‘working copy’ is the most recent copy of the document being worked on.  A clean version of this document will be emailed to the Planning Committee each week (every few days as we get closer to deadline).  Please do not edit this copy.  ONLY edit the copy in the Dropbox itself.  The copy being emailed is for review only.
  3. If you are editing the ‘working copy’ of the proposal, please be sure to track changes.  If you are not familiar with tracking changes, here is a video (4 minutes) that will show you the simple steps to track changes (view video).
  4. Grammatical errors and minor edits will be made by the Grant Proposal Writer.  Any major changes will be brought to the next Planning Committee meeting or sent to the entire Planning Committee for vote and feedback.  We will utilize Survey Monkey for voting purposes.
  5. All responses for Survey Monkey will need to be received within 24 hours (or the stated time frame) for consideration.
  6. We will continue to add to these rules, so be sure to check back frequently.
